Crofton Foods store was built in 1906. It has always been a family-owned grocery business and due to no one perpetuating the family business it was being sold to different owners. The structure itself was renovated several times by different owners to suit the needs of the time.

Arnold Evernden acquired the store in November 20,1991 and has been expanding ever since; from a simple grocery store with outsourced products to baking its very own white bread, burger bun, light rye, Winnepeg rye, good haven, 100% whole wheat and French bread. To add the making of the popular pizzas: Arnie’s specials, Hawaiian, Mexican, Pepperoni, Cheese, Vegetable Lovers, Greek, Meat Lovers, Chicken Pesto, Aloha de Luxe, BBQ Chicken, Tuscan Chicken and Bacon Cheese Burger.

In the succeeding year , the grant of licenses to operate a Lottery, and sell Liquor and Tobacco was realized.

Today, the Crofton Foods store is a fusion of Asian and Canadian cultures which for years have been molded by the dynamic team. Deli menus have been prepared by chefs and trained cooks which run the department for years.
